Thankful Thursday- friends

Welcome all to another addition of Thankful Thursday! At this moment I am thankful for many things in my life. The Lord has blessed us greatly this week! My hubby was given 2 large bags of name brand, nice immaculate clothes from the neighbor across the road who him and his wife also happens to be a good friend of ours. This is such a blessing as DH's clothes are much to be desired and most are rags and so he was in real need for new ones. Today I am thankful for wonderful friends. I was just thinking what it means to be a real friend. Real friends don't take advantage of others kindness. Good friends do not need verbal communication to tell something to each other. They can perfectly understand each others thoughts and can respond accordingly. Treat her or him like you wished to be treated and see yourself in your friend. We should listen what our friends are telling and should help them overcome their problems and try to assist them in each and every situation. A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself. Friendship is precious. Today, I thank God he has given my hubby and I some really great friends and the wonderful moments and friendship with each and every one of them all carefully planned by God. So, there you have it. Now, it's your turn. Lets hear what you are thankful for.

Becky"s Back!

If you have read my March 15, 2009 post called My best friend, it"s labeled under friendship. I talked about my dear good friend, and neighbor Becky., the inspiration she is to me and how she left for 6 months to go live in Indianapolis, IN to live with her sister. She is back! She stopped in this morning to say hello. She said she tried to call but her sisters phone wasn't working right and they didn't have long distance. In the 6 months, I have only gotten to talk to her once on the phone. My, it was awesome to see her. I have missed my good friend alot! We talked and talked and talked. She has her house back and is here to stay. As you recall, Becky has dementia and quite frankly I was afraid she wouldn't remember me. That's crazy I know. The Lord knows and watches over us and allows things to happen for a reason. Sometimes we don't always understand at first. Because,Becky had been on cymbalta. This is a prescription medication for the treatment or management of fibromyalgia, major depression and general anxiety disorder which in turn was causing most of her dementia and confusion. She isn't on this anymore although ,she still has fribromyalgia but, Praise God has improved greatly. She also, finally, a while back started receiving her disability. She looks great! Everything from her health to her mind. I think the Lord knew she needed this long vacation .I am very happy for her and most of all glad she is back home. I am looking forward to many times of fellowship and praying together like we used to. Hubby and I plan on going to her church sometime with her. I've been wanting to visit this church because it's just down the road from where we live. Yes, I truly believe the Lord knows what is best for us. Thank you Lord for bringing Becky safely home and all you have done for this woman who loves you so very much and who is obedient in your word.

Spending time with family and friends

Hey all! It has been a busy weekend here in Indiana.I believe summer feels like summer now. Hot and sticky! We had our little granddaughter Jocelyne, overnight last night . When granddaughters stay overnight at Mimi's and Papa's house they always insist on going out to village kitchen for breakfast. Village Kitchen is the little mom & pop restaurant we always go to. We had a good breakfast with the wee one and hit a few garage sales before taking her home. My sister called and I spent the rest of the day helping her. It is always nice to spend some sister time, and we got alot accomplished. Later when I got home, my stepdaughter Amanda and her boyfriend with his 2 kids stopped over to go swimming and go for a pontoon ride. Later we grilled hot dogs on the grill.I guess what I was going to have tonight for dinner we will have to eat next week. Just when I thought I could get on the computer I didn't. Hubby and I spent time visiting with the neighbor friends across the drive. You know, sitting around the campfire, shooting the breeze, we even went out on their pontoon for a ride and yes, you guessed it, grilled hot dogs and grillers. So far, this has been a busy and fun weekend. I love spending time with friends and family! Take the time to spend with your family and friends. We all need it!

I love fishing having and going to garage sales, I consider myself a dumpster diva kinda gal, Hee-Hee, I am always looking for ways to save money. I love cooking and trying new recipes, I can knit and crochet a little bit, but it is not my favorite thing to do. I enjoy puttering around my veggie garden and take pride in maintaining it. I can and freeze my own home grown veggies. and of course spending time with my hubby and grandchildren are a great joy to me. I am very new at this whole bloggy thing and I just take it one day at a time. One of these days I will grasp on. I hope by via blogging I will meet new people and make new friends! I hope you will come back and visit often- I would love to hear from you all!!

My best friend

I am enjoying my Sunday. How about you? It sure makes a difference when the sun is shining bright and it is warm enough outside to be comfortable with just a sweatshirt. I am taking it easy at home doing much of nothing. I was thinking about my friend who lives a few houses down the road. I haven't seen her all winter. I wanted to go visit her but, found out today she had packed up her belongings and went to Indianapolis. Did I miss something? I thought for a moment it was just temporary like a visit, but, it is not. For those who don't know, this lady is a wonderful christian lady who inspired me so many ways. We shared likes, dislikes, interest, pursuits, and passion. Last year when I lost our 2 boys (cats) who were hit by a car, she was there for me. When I was sick, she was there for me. When I was looking for a job, she was there for me. When I didn't have a sewing machine or I needed repairs done, yes, she was there for me. We prayed together, had coffee together, one time, before my couponing days, hubby and I were struggling. Becky walked to our house with 4 large bags of food. She said she had prayed about it, and God wanted her to share with us, as, she had way more than she could ever use. Becky has dementia, she also has fribroidmyagia and a number of other ailments. She can not work and has tried for years to get disability. She finally got it this last fall. Because of her dementia mostly, and her financial struggle from not getting her disability, she was forced to have someone live with her and help with the bills some. She was going to lose her house if not doing so. Her daughter helped the best she could but, it was putting a financial strain on her.Becky having no choice had her daughter and son-in-law and 4 kids move in with her. Becky lives in a small double wide, so you can imagine how crowded it was. She lives in Indianapolis with her sister now. I am told she may not be back. Becky's daughter and her family have taken over her house. Something happened between Becky and her grandson. She got mad and packed her things and is now gone. I do not know all the details. I never got to say goodbye to my best friend. I will miss her terribly. We had a genuine friendship, true friendship involving action, doing something for someone else while expecting nothing in return. We shared thoughts, feelings, without fear of judgement or negative criticism. We are real friends, best friends. Encouraging one another where there has been offense. We have genuine friendship, supporting each other during times of struggle. I love my friend. No matter what, and I want the best for my friend Becky.
