A llittle of this and that

If I am not posting as much anymore during the week, It is because I have been extremely busy like tending my garden, Oh my....with all the rain and warm weather the garden is growing crazy and so are the weeds. I have been trying to stay on top of it all which is a tackle in itself these days. Oh..how embarrassing to have a weedy garden. Weeds are a fact of life with a garden and they need to be pulled. Seriously, I have to be attentive to them. Turn your back on them and they are back in your garden! When I am not tending the garden I have been fishing and having coffee with my Dad. In fact, I went again this morning with him and we reeled in 47 beautiful bluegill. The rest of the day was spent helping clean fish dividing the bluegill between us. I put 4 containers full in the freezer for this winter. We had so much fun that we fished again early this evening. This time, DH went with us. We took home 50 fish. HA! This time DH received the honors of cleaning them. I put 4 more containers in the freezer. We are ever so thankful the Lord has blessed us once again with a mess of fish. I must not forget the quality time spent with my father. Oh yes, and then there is our pet rabbit. Why have a pet if you never spend any time caring for it? I got this hair brained idea a couple of days ago to let little Bunny Boo in the house. I carefully spread newspapers all over the floor in one room. I can't trust the little guy after he peed on my friend from down the road. Okay, I am so glad this lady has a sense of humour! Anyways Bunny Boo and our little Yorkie/shitzu played and played...chasing each other like they were playing tag and were best buddies. It was hilarious! Now, I am not making a habit of bringing my rabbit in the house all the time. I have however have been making a habit of spoiling the little guy. Okay, No more excuses. I promise to get on the bandwagon here soon. Just know I am okay. Maybe you can relate?

Dealing with a canker sore and free toothpaste

Painful shallow sores in your mouth called canker sores, have you ever had them? Let me tell you, I have had my share of them through out the years. I noticed one last night in my mouth,. I haven't had one in ages. Although canker sores are harmless, they can be painful. No one knows what causes canker sores but, some causative factors may include fatigue, emotional stress and certain foods, even biting the inside of the cheek or tongue or chewing a sharp piece of food like for example, potato chips ,may trigger a canker sore. Drugs like anti inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen can also have an effect. Whoops! I have been taking alot of this in the past month and a half! Your toothpaste may have an effect as well from the sodium Laural sulfate in the product. I learned avoiding hot, spicy or acidic foods and beverages may help. Does this include sprite zero?Although, not brushing my teeth is not an option, switching to an SLS free toothpaste may help. I found this site that has a toothpaste that has just this, and a trial size you can send for free. Yay! Verve ultra toothpaste at https://verveultra.com/ is just the toothpaste for canker sore prevention. It comes in soothing fresh mint. It has fluoride for cavity protection, whitening with no bleaches or peroxides and vitamin enriched. Verve ultra is priced at $4.89 at tube. A free trial size will be nice and can't wait to try it. If you have canker sores you may want to check Verve ultra out. Maybe, you will just want to give it a try even if you don't have cancer sores.

Hubby treated me to a wonderful breakfast out this morning for valentines day. Then I went to Walgreen's and CVS. It feels really good to be out and about even if it's for a bit. The sun is shining brightly here in northern Indiana and I didn't seem to mind the cold. I did 5 transactions at CVS. I spent a total of $12.33. I made a mistake on transaction #2 and forgot to give my $3.00 reach CVS Q thus making my oop more than I anticipated Pooh! I also made a mistake with the crest pro health toothpaste by picking up the wrong one and not only paying more for it but also not getting ecb's for it. Live and Learn! I believe we've all made mistakes like that before.

Great Meijer shopping trip!

I went to Meijer tonight mainly to use my free Purina dog food coupons and to do the I can't believe its not butter sticks for cooking and baking deal. The deal is you buy 1- 16oz I can't believe its not butter sticks for cooking and baking for $2.19, use $1.00/1 coupon = $1.19. Buy one or more, get a $2.00 catalina on your next shopping order. This is a 71 cents money maker. Then the idea is take the $2.00 catalina to pay for next transaction and just keep rolling your catalinas. Somehow it didn't go as planned. I rang up 1 package I can't believe it's not butter, used my $1.00/1 coupon, paid $1.19 and no catalina spit out so being me I asked the cashier standing there why it didn't go through, because it supposed to. She checked on it by asking the manager and checking the machine. They agreed, that it should of went through. The manager politely told me she didn't know what happened but, they would get in touch with the company that puts the catalina out and instead of the catalina she would just give me the money instead in cash. Let's see, I had 4 packages of butter so they gave me $8.00. I rang up the rest of my purchases.......

I gave the $8.00 they gave me and $2.08 of my own money. HA Ha and what spit out?.........Yep, a $2.00 catalina good on my next shopping order. Now, how good is that?

I sent my husband to CVS today because you can go to CVS right now for peanut butter m&m"s in the medium 11.4 oz bags, regular price is $3.99, but, they are ringing up for a mere 39 cents!This is only the peanut butter that is ringing up 39 cents and they are not marked. This is an awesome deal. My darling Hubby got 20 bags! Holey Moley! I don't know what he was thinking. but, I will take it! Perhaps I will give these to the kids for Christmas. I believe this deal is only for this week so hurry if you like peanut butter m&m"s. to avoid missing out on this great deal!

Kroger store closing

Kroger is closing it's doors here in our community in August. I am guessing around the 18th. I am sort of sad to see it go. Even more sad is the fact all these workers will be without a job and soon join the unemployed, like we need that in this already oppressed economy. When I found out it didn't surprise me none as I don't believe they get the business like Walmart or Meijers does .Whenever I am in the store there is but a handful of people shopping. For the most part, people who shop Kroger go for the triple coupons and deals. I am one of those people. It also won't be any surprise to maybe see some really good deals in the next few weeks. I also get my prescriptions at Kroger. I am hearing that they will move all the records to Meijer. I am not sure if I will stick with Meijer or will transfer to CVS in the future. This is something I will think about.

Great find at Meijer!

I found a great find today at Meijer. Actually, I really don't need anything at the store this week except my dog was out of pupr-roni dog treats. She has been out for a few days. Sassy loves her pupr-roni's and will not touch any other kind.She is so little and most dog treats are so big. Heck, 1 dog treat would probably last Sassy a week. The regular price on these pupr-roni dog treats are usually $4.69. Today I found these on clearance for $3.03 So, I picked up 8 boxes, which is about all they had left. This is the good part....they scanned at $2.27 a box. Whoo-hoo! Sassy is now a very happy pup!

Garage sale find

It was a beautiful day for garage sailing. I haven't been going to as many sales as I have in the past years so it seemed like the thing to do. Hubby and I started out about 9:30 am with the intention of only garage sailing until about noon. Guess what, we didn't stop until about 3:30 pm. But, we enjoy the time together and scouting for anything we might need at a cheap price. Today we found something I really can use, and that is 3 large bookcases! Ever since we moved in this trailer I have done my share of complaining there is not enough closets or shelves or storage period! With all my stockpiling, I have devoted the small bedroom into my storage room. I have 1 small bookcase and a really nice cabinet to put things in. Just these 2 things have helped immensely. I have one whole wall that I wished I had nothing but shelves clear up to the ceiling. We found just that today. 3 of these large bookcases for a mere $22.00 for all that will fit that entire wall nicely. Hubby just finished putting one out of 3 of these together. Now, the fun part, getting it down the hall and getting it all set up in that room.

Storage solution solved

We acquired this cute cabinet from our neighbors from across the road today. They offered it to us, they said if we didn't want it they were going to disassemble it so to speak.and that would be a shame.My storage solutions are solved! No more not knowing what I have or don't have because of having to dig through boxes and what not or not being able to get to my stockpile half of the time. Not only is this aggravating but can cost unnecessary money out of the pocket. One of my goals I promised myself this year was to get myself more organized. Not only do we have the bookcase we bought at the garage sale yesterday but, we have this really cute cabinet As you can see it has all this room underneath besides the 2 drawers. I love it! Plenty of room for my stockpiles. It is definitely what I need.

My CVS scenario 6/7/09

I haven't posted about my CVS runs in awhile so here is my scenario for this week 6/7-13. This isn't as good as I usually do but, I will try to do better next week.
