This Is Your Captain Speaking

This is the life story of Gavin MacLeod. I found this book fascinating. Seriously, I am not much of an autobiography reader but, since I used to tune in every week to The Love Boat on television when I was younger and just loved show, I decided to read this book. I enjoyed all the pictures he shared as well in the book. I like that Gavin was able to keep his faith and let it keep him happy and motivated. Not only do you learn about this mans amazing history as an actor, you also find your own faith restored chapter by chapter. The world could use more Gavin MacLeod's. I was also amazed at his joy for living and his ability to see good in any situation. He loves life, loves others, and loves his faith. It's rare to hear a celebrity so outspoken about their faith in God. This book was a delight to read. I received this book from Booksneeze.com in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Daniel Cure by Susan Gregory & Richard J. Bloomer, PhD

I was a wee disappointed with this book at first because the data seemed a bit overwhelming but, other than that, I enjoyed this book very much, especially the recipes of over 50. The focus of this book is to take the reader to the next step by creating a new way of living and eating from a Christian perspective. God does care about how we care for our bodies and we need to be aware of the resources we have been given. I hope to implement this diet at some point.Since the concept of this book is rooted in Daniel 1; 11-13 and Daniel 10; 2-3. When Daniel fasts and prays and eats food from seeds. I believe you can't just jump into this diet. I believe America's health profile can be significantly changed by adopting a lifestyle of eating whole minimally processed foods. I believe this book is an easy effective way to just implement this lifestyle and change. This book was very informative and a must have for anyone considering this fast or way of living. I received this book free from book sneeze. The opinion I have expressed are my own.

Downside up by Tracey Mitchell book review

In this book Downside up, the author Tracey Mitchell helps you to relate in a Godly way to deal with rejections. It helps us to realize that things are not always perfect and that it is okay.  It is how we deal with those imperfections of life that really helps us grow and develop. The book is divided into chapters. In the end of every chapter there is a summary of the chapter principles, words of wisdom and a power quote and a plan of action. I like this. I thought it tied everything together and helped me to remember the main points. I have had a whole lot of rejection growing up, thrown at me and still do, so I am so happy to have had the privilege to have read this book because it is nothing but pure goodness. It is such a positive book and it is going to be a book I will go back over and over again. No matter how old you are and those looking to make changes in their life this book is for you.I received this book through Book Sneeze for free. The opinions I expressed are my own. When God Makes Lemonade, by Don Jacobson

When God Makes Lemonade, by Don Jacobson is full of a lot of mostly short and true stories. There are 68 common stories with a supernatural theme of God turning "lemons" into sparkling lemonade, some of them with notes afterwards by Mr. Jacobson. I really enjoyed this book because the stories takes you through life experiences of normal everyday folks, who have experienced God's super-ceding over life's bad dealings. This book is well worth reading. I will be passing this book on to a friend. It is a reminder that God has got it all under control. If you are looking for a book that is uplifting, something to make you smile, this book just may do that for you.

Persecuted The Global Assault On Christains

I recently had the opportunity to read Persecuted The Global Assault On Christians. This book is a book for both believers and non believers. Across the world, and for all sorts of reasons, Christians are being persecuted. This book really speaks the reality and cost of being a christian and brings a much needed awareness of the reality of Christians who are being persecuted, murdered, fleeing countries where christian groups have lived for thousands of years, raped, schools, churches and homes have been burned or destroyed. These authors share hundreds of stories of Christians being persecuted for their faith. I mean to be honest, I found so many of these stories to be disturbing and hard to read. I can't understand why our media hasn't covered this. Each story will break your heart leaving you numb. For me, it is a book you don't want to read but need to read and then pass it on. It makes me eternally grateful that I can drive to church on Sunday with out the worry of inprisionment or physical harm. It is a reminder that we still have freedoms of faith that many do not and yet we take them for granted. I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com review blogger program. The opinions in this post are my own.

Unglued Devotional By Lysa Terkeurst

This little book excites me because the words in this devotional speak directly to my heart and continues to do so each day. Unglued moments happen in our lives everyday. When life just doesn't go as planned, such as jealousy, dealing with other people, disappointments. Sometimes we just feel like pulling our hair out right?  Emotions are good,as long as we are directing them positively and they aren't dictating our day.. Lysa will show you to keep them in check. Based on completely on the word of God. Lysa takes you through 60 days of imperfect progress teaching to live by grace even on those days when your emotions throw you for a loop. Each day begins with an opening scripture. There's a thought for the day, a devotion and closing prayer. I find this to be a down to earth style book. It's a perfect companion to your daily bible reading and taking less than 5 minutes to read. It's a perfect to keep with you on the go kinda book. I received this book free from Book Sneeze. The opinions I expressed are my own. No other compensation was given or received.

Stumbling Into Grace Confessions Of A Sometimes Spiritually Clumsy Woman By Lisa Harper

I loved the writing style of the book by Lisa Harper. I enjoyed her analogies and how she related her thoughts of her quirky scenarios then using biblical quotes to connect to the reader. She is candid and sweet and knows how to poke fun at herself. I enjoyed getting to know her through her witty life anecdotes. It is refreshing to read an honest and open book that shares the process of finding ones faith with complete strangers such as myself. I think we all have a part of us that wishes to find that spiritual place where we feel at home. We all struggle with many of the same battles that Mrs. Harper faced This book is a quick and easy read. I highly recommend it! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksneeze.com for review purposes. I received no other compensation for my review. The opinion here is mine!
